JOIN A LINEAGE SOCIETY

If you know that your ancestors were in Licking County on the  1820 census or before, we invite you to join the Licking County Pioneer  Society. Proof of descent is necessary from the Pioneer to you as the applicant. 

The cost of the membership is only $10.00 plus you need to be a current member of the Licking County Genealogical Society.  See the Pioneer Application form and LCGS current membership application below.

The Pioneer file will provide new and potentially valuable, genealogical data and historical information about the places of origin and migration patterns of early Licking County settlers.

The Civil War Lineage Society is a prestigious lineage  society founded by the Ohio Genealogical Society and adopted by the  Licking County Genealogical Society to honor Licking County Civil War  Soldiers. To qualify for membership, you must be a current member of the  Licking County Genealogical Society and prove your direct descent from a  Licking County Civil War soldier. Qualifying soldiers are those who  were born, lived, or died in Licking County Ohio, or who served in a  Licking County Ohio Military Unit.

Documentation must show the relationship from you back to  your Civil War ancestor. Only primary documentation will be accepted  such as birth certificate, death certificate, marriage record, and  military service and must correspond with entries on the form. Copies of  the documentation must accompany the application form to be submitted  to the Civil War Society Chairman to review for membership. 

The cost of the membership is $15.00 plus you need to be a current member of the Licking County Genealogical Society.

All applications and supporting documentation become the  property of and are preserved at the Licking County Genealogical Society  library.

The First Families Lineage Society was created to honor the  First Families to occupy Licking County. To qualify for membership, you  must be a current member of the Licking County Genealogical Society and  prove your direct descent from a Licking County family shown on the 1820  Licking County Census. 

All applications must be accompanied by proof of descent and  the payment of the application fee which is $20.00 per application and  $10 for collateral applications. Applicants must also be a current  member of the Licking County Genealogical Society.
